Said blog post made no mention of older generations past the PS4, and even then it sounds like not every single PS4 game will play on the system. It's unlikely that the PS5 will be able to play PS3 games in any way, especially considering the PS4 never saw backward compatibility of any kind.

Games are enhanced on PS3 too. I see no reason why PS3 games wouldn’t be enhanced on PS5. Imagine Killzone 3 running at 60 fps and upscaled to 4k.
